Listening to: Bruce Springsteen, Dancing in the dark (Oh, he's so damn hot. Moreno, if you are reading this, just kidding darling! :D)
I must confess I was a little afraid to post this, after all your compliments about this look. That one was preppy and cute, this one's...well, I don't really know how to define it. I just mixed up some clothes I really love and this is the result.
I made these shorts myself, they used to be long jeans; I cropped them and hemmed them and then I tie-dyed them. The cape was my aunt's and my jacket belonged to my father, I think; I found it some years ago in a closet under a pile of other clothes and I fell in love with it: the colour, the shape are so '80s! That's why I put Dancing in the dark as song I'm currently listening: I can imagine my dad in the '80s listening to Bruce Springsteen and rocking this jacket.
Oh while we're on the subject the day before yesterday was my dad's birthday! 57 years :) we celebrated with a dinner together with my granny Valeria (my dad's mother) and then we ate the cake I baked for the occasion.
While I was looking for a picture of my dad in the '80s to put here I found some amazing pics that portrayed my dad and my mom in their youth. I wish I could show them to you all! Maybe I'll make a whole post with vintage photos of my family. Do you think you'll like it? Vote yay or nay!

I love to look at old photos, it's so fascinating to me, especially because they were "one shot, one kill"...I mean, with old film cameras you couldn't check the photo you just took, you had to cross your fingers and hope for the best, and you could see how they turned out only after you developed them.
And the whole developing thing was fascinating: you waited and waited with impatience those little portraits of your life, and you eventually could see your photos and treasure them with care in a photo album, where they would wait for you to pick them up and show them to your sons and grandsons.
This changed with digital cameras, of course...but I really don't know if the situation changed for the better. I mean, taking photos became easier, and we surely take a lot of pics comparing to people in the past, but...
What do you think, darlings?

p.s: voted yay! I love seeing bloggers vintage photos of family, it's so special.
I love your look! You make is so good! I totally adore you aunt's cape! Nice that you made the shorts yourself!
I totally agree about Bruce Springsteen, he is just Too Hot To Handle. There's this super sexy video of him singing 'fire' live. here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d5PoIrcyd34 I mean, those arms, that voice, it makes me melt and tingle at the same time. Okay, enough with the hormones!
Those bangs are still great on you, denim jackets are always a score and I love this wacky combination of denim with wooly winter scarf and cape :-D. I keep noticing how nice your legs are! Your dad was quite handsome by the way! He looks a bit like Paul Newman, one of my favorite men of all time. If you don't know Paul Newman, definitely check him out. He had the same kind of boyish country charm as Bruce. Including the most gorgeous eyes ever to be known by humans. Yes, my hormones are running a bit crazy. :-D
Oh and about pictures: I love looking at old photographs too but like you said, you only get one shot and you might as well have had your thumb on the lens and you'll only know after you've printed out the film. So if you ask me it's a huge improvement and you can still use film if you want! I can only say that, as an aspiring photographer, I'd rather see what I did wrong on my camera for free than spend money everytime I want to know what kind of pictures I took. I'd be broke and a half if I printed out every full film I shot :-D And blogging would be a lot more tedious!
I love seeing old vintage photos...I think they are so much more intriguing, not to mention the fashion of the past is just awesome:) Loving the eclectic look darling...nothing wrong with mixing it up a bit. Love the layering and those gorgeous boots as well! I must apologize, I totally typed your blog name wrong when I linked back in my last post. I didn't catch it till rereading it this morning..arg, note to self...don't type posts at 2 in the morning..haha...it's now fixed. Have a good weekend Jul!
@ Marisa Noelle: don't worry darling, I don't mind! Thanks for your thoughtfulness though ;) you too have a wonderful weekend!
