Defying the Siberian wind + creepiness

I feel a bit shameless, posting these images. My brother took them during the last days of January, when it was VERY cold here due to a beastly Siberian wind. As you can see in these photos, I wasn't extremely happy about it, haha :) that weather made useless my efforts for looking cute and all dressed up, 'cause I always ended up wearing almost the same outfit over and over again. I practically lived in these boots and military coat!!
 My hair, what a mess.
Well at least I had the chance to wear this sweater dress. It's the warmest sweater I own and it has reindeers on it! It's a win-win, don't you think? :)
Oh and this...prepare yourself for this picture! It portrays an abandoned building near the field where I always pose (haha I guess you're sick tired of always the same background but what can I do? I'm lazy and this field is near my house).
Well I just had to post it, I'm sorry :) haha it's so creepy that's almost shocking (also because it's blurry, I think)!

Ginger tea

This ginger tea made my flu bearable so it deserves a spotlight! Moreno taught me this easy recipe first and I couldn't be more grateful <3 I drank a lot of ginger tea last week and believe me, it was great for healing my cold and my occasional coughs. It's literally heartwarming :)
So I wanted to share this with you!
Let's see, you'll need:
Peel the ginger root and chop it into pieces.
Then bring some water to boil and when you'll see it's boiling add the chopped ginger.
Let it boil for almost 10 or 15 minutes, then pour the tea into a cup and add the lemon juice and a generous tablespoon of honey. I used orange honey from Sicily...hmmm!
Well, it's done, darlings. Drink it while it's hot!

La Cage aux Folles

Listening to: Queen, I Want To Break Free
So, almost two weeks ago (!) we went to our usual theatre in Trieste to see La Cage aux Folles! It was an Italian production and the two leading actors (not to mention the whole cast) were SO good. We had a lot of fun :)
For those who don't know this musical, it's about a gay couple, Georges and Albin, that live in Saint Tropez and run a drag nightclub called "La Cage aux Folles": Georges welcomes the audience and Albin performs as Zaza, the star of the show. The situation complicates when their son Jean Michel (Georges' biological son) announces that he's engaged to a girl, Anne, and that he wants to invite her and her parents at home. But Anne's father is the ultra-conservative head of the "Tradition, Family and Morality Party", whose goal is to close the local drag clubs. That's why Jean Michel wants Albin and his evident gay behaviours out of the house for that night.
I must admit it: even if it's very famous I didn't know this musical before, but I was so glad that Moreno introduced me to it! We had such a fun time and we enjoyed the show a lot.
The only flaw in a flawless night was the weather: Trieste is known for its Bora, a verrrrry cold wind common in winter that during that week blew at an average speed of 120 or 130 km/h. I mean, do you even know what does it mean? Last week, when blowing at the speed of 160 km/h, this wind knocked a truck over in the middle of Trieste! True fact. Just look at this image (main article here).
The point is that, due to the cold and the Bora, I had to wear boots while I really wanted to wear my sky high black pumps that could contrast the masculine look so well (lol, these are very shallow worries; now, on a serious note, people actually DIED for this cold and for this wind in the last few weeks. This is nothing to joke about, ok?).
I'm so surprised that Moreno's photo didn't turn out unfocused, I was laughing SO hard when I took it! :D

Another cheesy Valentine's day post?

Listening to: The Beatles, All you need is love
Robot love under the rainbow, by Hosio on Deviantart
A cheesy Valentine's day post about how Moreno and I will spend our evening on this lovely day? Nope. Unfortunately we both have a really bad flu, with fever and cold and articular pains. So we're stuck in bed. Yay!
I hope you spend a better Saint Valentine's day than ours! (Not that it's so hard, believe me...)

Craziness lover, technology rebel

I have to warn you: today's photos are pretty crazy. As always, my brother Andrea and I went out to take some photos in the nearbys of our home and without any reason we started laughing and singing the Imperial March from Star Wars and just acting crazy. Maybe I was just anxious for my exam (we took these photos last week), or maybe we both are nuts, but who cares? Having a lot of fun and doing something together (aww, cheesy!) and at the same time doing something for this little blog of mine is just awesome, don't you think?
Also, this is completely out of topic (what topic, by the way?!), but today I suddenly had a revelation: like an epiphany, like a lightning, all at once I realized that I hate my cell phone. I hate that I have to carry it with me all the time and being reachable at all moments in my life, even when I'm on the toilet. I hate that I always have to answer when someone calls me, or to answer when someone texts me, because otherwise why should I have a cell phone with me? I hate that I became dependent to this little infernal machine, and that if I don't have it with me I feel somehow lost and anxious (even if, at the same time, I feel a little free).
But, most of all, I hate that this is the only way to keep in contact with Moreno during the whole day. I mean, what about love letters and carrier pigeons or, at the least, old phone booths? I guess they're too slow and impractical, but think about it, they're way more romantic than texting.
A last consideration: had it not been for Moreno and for my two or three closest friends, I would have thrown my cell phone in the fire at this time. Yes, I'm a technology rebel and I'm proud of it.

Listening to: Simon&Garfunkel, Mrs. Robinson
Today my wonderful mom turns...ehm, actually it's rude to say out loud how old is a lady, isn't it? :)
Anyway this is her as a twenty-something...and I can assure you that now she looks just like that (you can see her here and here)! Such a lucky woman.
Buon compleanno, mamma!!

Crastĭnō (= tomorrow)

Listening to: Fleet Foxes, Helplessness Blues
Tomorrow's THE day. Tomorrow I'll sit for my Latin exam (thus the post title), and I feel so, so, so anxious.
What I really need right now is just a lot of coziness and me cuddling against Moreno while sipping a cup of hot chocolate (I need sugar in my blood!!).
Just wish me luck. Please do.
On a side note, I've been extremely obsessed with today's song, Helplessness Blues. I can't stop listening to it! I guess it heals my poor nerves.

Have a glorious day, my darlings!

A quick one while he's away

Listening to: The Who, A quick one while he's away live at The Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus in 1968! I love this performance :)
A quick photo (or two) while my semi-official photographer was away at school. I have to thank my mother-in-law Sonia for these photos, before she arrived I was trying to do them myself and believe me, without a tripod it's VERY, VERY difficult to make decent photos (you don't want to see the results). So when she came to my place by coincidence I thought it was a blessing and I immediately asked her to take some photos...yes, I am shameless.
About this outfit, I'm still not sure about the coat, but it was the only thing that seemed to work with this skirt. I prefer this attire without the coat on, anyway :)
Coat: handmade
Bag: Levi's
Tights: Calzedonia

Hope you had a great day, dalings.
